Enneagram No. 3
Enneagram No. 3
Framed in a maple canvas floater frame and ready to hang
Redemptive Characteristics:
A healthy three is self-accepting, authentic, charitable, and gentle. They stop performing and achieving and look inward to discover their true self. They use their resources to benefit others and are vulnerable in their mistakes. They are everything they seem to be. A healthy three will resist doing what is acceptable just to be accepted, but instead invest time in discovering their own core values.
The idea behind this painting comes from kintsugi — the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the broken areas with a dusted gold lacquer. The philosophy behind it treats the breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise. To me, this beautifully represents a healthy, redeemed three, being truthful and accepting themselves as they are and seeing that their value doesn’t depend on their success.
