a day at kennesaw mountain

Yesterday, Drew and I both took off work and spent the day together. It was wonderful. He left early this morning to go on a business trip (boo hiss!), so we decided to spend some intentional time together yesterday (yay!). We spent the morning // early afternoon up at Kennesaw Mountain. Guys, it was B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l. The weather was perfect. It could not have been a better day outside. After that we came home, cleaned up the house a little, played with the kitties, made some Hawaiian Chicken and Apple Crisp (I'm going to share those recipes with you tomorrow!), and watched Oceans 12.

GREAT day.

I hate it when Drew leaves to go out of town - especially for 8 days. :( However, I do have some awesome projects planned during his absence and I'm so excited to hopefully *fingers crossed* finish some // most of these things:

  • Frame & hang guest bedroom artwork
  • Create a custom bookshelf for the guest bedroom out of crates
  • Find some antlers
  • Create a new painting for the dining area
  • Sew a skirt
  • Make a "nature-inspired" advent calendar
  • Recover a lampshade
  • Make a winter wreath
  • Complete two awesome blog designs (woo hoo Maiedae!)

I can't wait to share these projects with you as I cope with being all alone. I know, I know. You're probably thinking, Man, Jenny, get it together. Weren't you single and living alone just a few months ago? You're right, guys. But, it's so different being married. I feel like Drew is my home. And without him, I feel not-really-fully myself. Does that make sense? I really don't know how I managed when I was single. It's tough! Props to you gals who are better at it than I am. Also - any tips you might have for me as I try to get through these days would be awesome. What do you do when your man goes away for a while?

Here are some photos we took while playing at Kennesaw Mountain.
