survey says ...
Recently, I conducted a survey that many of you were so wonderful to take! I had never done this before, so it was a completely new experience. And honestly, I was a little nervous. I deeply care about what you guys think - what you like, your opinion, what you don't like. But, I didn't know if asking for honest feedback was a smart idea or not... But ultimately, I decided it would be good for me and the blog - I would learn what to improve upon and maybe even get some new ideas from you all. And even if every response was negative, at least I would know the truth.
After the survey was up for a few days, I hesitantly opened it up to see the results thus far. To my delight, many of you participated and gave me a great response! I was deeply encouraged by your feedback and really appreciate all of your kind words. The survey has opened up my eyes to what I can improve upon and what I should definitely keep doing. It's interesting, too, because some of the Post Series I was feeling weren't as good were actually some of the most loved! It's funny and refreshing to see things through someone else's eyes.
So, what were some of the results? Well, here ya go.
For those of you who answered no, Maiedae is a graphic design company I co-own with my best friend, Savannah. You can read about Maiedae on this page or check out www.maiedae.com for more info. Also, we have a "Make It Happen" series that we write together where you can hear more about our story and how to make your own dreams happen.

And then there's this one... Drew and I decided one night it would be hilarious to draw each other without looking. Well... it was indeed hilarious. Hilarious enough that we framed them and stuck them in the guest bathroom for an unexpected surprise to the toilet-going visitor :)

A FEW OF MY FAVORITE COMMENTS
- My Style - I love your style and your photos are always perfect! DIY - seeing how others make things/improve their living space is always fun and inspiring! I have so much interest in DIY projects but rarely follow through with my own. Make It Happen - these posts are so inspirational. You and Savannah are doing what so many others are trying so hard to do and it's so interesting to read about your journey to this point! I do hope the disappointments are easing up - I know it's not always easy to follow your dreams. <3
- My style: I think you are absolutely beautiful and live a beautiful life. I love to see how you get creative with the things you wear. it inspires me to do the same. Uniquely you: honestly because 95% of the things i read there register with me in a big way, and stick with me. DIY: duh i love crafts!!! DIYing/creating is when I'm happiest. You give me great ideas, and I love to take them and run with it!!:)
- Uniquely You is such a positive and personal take on women's issues that I do enjoy reading. It's self-affirming, yet reassuring, and even though there are days that I feel 100% okay with myself, it's nice to have a little cheerleader moment and give myself that extra kick in the butt! I love the range of Things I've Learned, and just how much it covers, from relationships to photography. Can be tips & tricks type things, or deeper life lessons, and I enjoy both! Plus, I love prettifying my phone and desktop :)
A FEW OF MY FAVORITE SUGGESTIONS
- I love house tours, esp when some areas are honest...like a kitchen that has dirty dishes instead of shining counters because honestly, how often is that? What about sharing what is around where you live? It may seem normal to you, but to us on the other side of the country, whose dream it is to visit Georgia, we would love to see your everyday average sights.
- I think you should definitely do a beauty series. You look like you are incredible with makeup and hair. It would be fun to hear your best practices.
- Keep blogging from your heart! :)
- Maybe do spotlights on your favorite articles of clothing or more information/ the story behind why you own an important article.
- Maybe how others could create art themselves. Like little art projects to try.
AND ..... just because you are amazing and sat through that, here are a few forgotten photos that I found. :)
