project art: mountain sunset
I'm excited to show you some of the artwork I've been working on recently. New to the Art Shop is this impressionistic painting - Mountain Sunset. For this particular painting, I wanted to do a loose form of Pointillism. Pointillism is a technique of painting that uses small, distinct dots of pure color to form an image. It is a branch off of impressionism, one of my favorite art forms. I allowed my dots to blend a little bit, therefore, I wouldn't consider it to be a strict form of Pointillism. But I had a lot of fun doing it!
I absolutely love doing both portraits and landscapes. One of my goals for next year is to master watercolor portraits! I'm so excited for this challenge and can't wait to practice on some of my friends and family.
You can purchase any of my artwork in my Art Shop here - They would make great Christmas gifts! ;) Happy weekend!
