Well folks, spring has officially arrived here in Georgia. It's gorgeous outside and Drew and I have been enjoying sitting out on our back porch enjoying the nice weather. We also have let our cats begin exploring the back yard and they are in love. I've found them several times rolling in the pine straw in pure ecstasy or prowling on a bunny or bird with wide, wondering eyes. They've also decided that the fire pit Drew built was meant for them to use as a big litter box. Hahaha.
Yes, cats, that's exactly what we built that for. It's all for you.
I've been furiously trying to prep for maternity leave and get as much done as possible in anticipation of Rowan's arrival, but something happened this week and all of a sudden I'm completely exhausted, my entire body hurts, I'm not sleeping, and my walk is officially a "waddle." It's hilarious to watch. :) But a little frustrating when I'm trying to get things done. ;) Being pregnant is an adventure and I'm thankful that I've had it pretty good so far.
Drew and I decided that this weekend we are going to spend one day going on a real date before I'm officially a beached whale. And by real date I don't mean dinner at home and a Netflix movie (although that's great, too!) - I mean getting up and going out on the town, people! Woohoo!! I think we might get dinner and go see a movie or something like that :) Being an extrovert who loves to get out of the house, I'm extremely excited about this. Especially since I've heard the first few weeks after Rowan's born I might feel a little trapped inside the house....because....well....I will be. :)
BUMP UPDATE
I really liked how sweet Jessica over at
does a weekly bump update and I thought it would be fun to include some fun bump updates in my outfit posts during my last trimester.
How far along:
36 weeks
Gender:
Boy
Stretch marks:
No
Belly button in or out:
Definitely have an outie now :) It looks really strange and feels even more strange.
Sleep:
I am not sleeping. I have tried sleeping in our recliner, but haven't been able to find anything that works so far. I've used small pillows to prop myself on my side halfway, used pillows between my legs... nothing keeps me from waking up every 30-45 minutes. But that's okay! Also, my hands are cramping at night like I have bad arthritis.
(It has made me very sorry for those of you who actually suffer from it!)
The doctor said it's completely normal and it's just all the extra fluid and water building up in my body.
Best moment this week:
Best moment this week was probably getting almost everything in Rowan's room set up. All we have to do is finish painting the baseboards and we are done! :)
Movement:
Rowan is officially pressing his cute little head on my cervix, causing sharp pain every now and then. I think he's gonna be a crazy little man - he's definitely not letting the lack of space in my belly stop him from gettin' his groove on!
Cravings:
Water. I'm thirsty all the time. Besides that, anything fruity.
Looking forward to:
I know this might sound lame to some of you, but ... I'm really excited about going to the hospital :) I feel like I'm anticipating a beach vacation...except minus the beach...and the vacation... okay so maybe not quite like that. Haha. But I'm so excited to meet our babe that I feel the same way towards going to the hospital that I do about going to the beach -
Ecstatic! :)
