feature: tranae of becoming fab

I'm so excited to introduce you to Tranae of Becoming Fabulous. Tranae loves to blog about DIY projects, fashion, decorating their home, finding balance in life, learning photography, working to open a shop for her crafts, and her life with her husband and doggie. Check out her Pinterest and follow her on Instagram to get a more inside look into her everyday life!

Tell me a little bit about yourself

Hi, I’m Tranae, the girl behind the blog Becoming Fabulous. I live on the outskirts of Atlanta with my magnificent husband (he told me to write that) and my 4-year-old Shih Tzu, Chloe. I have an obsession for DIY projects, Twilight (don’t judge), music, boots, and hats. Off of the web, I work as a counselor & educator within a non-profit organization.

Why did you start your own blog / shop?

Becoming Fabulous is the product of a quarter life crisis. At the time, I was a recent college graduate, painfully unemployed, a little on the chubby side, and absolutely unhappy.  During this time, I had two options: remain the same or change for the better. I made the choice to be happy and live fabulously. Becoming Fabulous is all about making the choice to be fab. I write about what makes me happy: making things, decorating, fashion, traveling, and encouraging others to live an empowered fabulous life.

What’s on your wish list?

This is the list that doesn’t end, yes it goes on and on, my friends :) But seriously, I am currently lusting over the Pop Fizz flats by Kate Spade, Fendi’s L’Acquarossa perfume, B&N Collectible edition of the Grimm Fairy Tales, Sugar Paper’s Desk Calendar, and Nate Berkus Tea Light Holders. I could go on and on but it would be easier if you just checked out my Pinterest wish list board.

What inspires your work?

I am greatly inspired by music, the great outdoors, and books. I’m a kid at heart so I love anything that is fun and fosters creativity.

Anything Else?

Currently, I’m in the beginning stage of developing an e-shop to sell some of my crafts. I love string and rope projects. Yarn mandalas are one of my absolute favorites as it symbolizes wholeness and harmony. It is my goal to launch within the New Year season.

Giveaway

Tranae would like to give one lucky winner a custom made 18-inch yarn mandala. The photos below are just a sample of her past work. The winner will have the option to customize the colors to reflect their personal style.
