my valentine's date
As I promised, here's what happened yesterday. So, I'm not a huge Valentine's Day fan, but I am a huge romantic. So when Drew told me two weeks ago that we were going somewhere special on February 13th, I got really excited. :) First, because I absolutely LOVE when Drew plans things for us and second, because we don't eat out much which makes it more fun when we do.
Now, I have this love//hate relationship with surprises. At first, I love them because they say to me, "Jenny, let's be fun and spontaneous together! You're going to love it even more when you find out and are surprised."
But then, my type-A kicks in and hates it saying, "You can't plan if you don't know what's happening. You could hate it. You don't want to be disappointed, do you?"
To which I reply, "But, I really want to be surprised and it's going to be great! Drew is always really romantic and sweet and loves me so much it will be awesome no matter what."
So finally, after my battle with Mr. Surprise, we got on the road and Drew told me we were headed to the Red and Green Brazilian Steakhouse. It's one of those places that you can eat all the meat you want. You get a card that is red on one side and green on the other. If you leave it on the green side, they will keep bringing you meat and food, but when you turn it to red, they stop. So we sat down, ate at the salad bar, opened a bottle of red Brazilian wine, and turned our cards to green. And left them there. FOR FORTY-FIVE MINUTES!!!!! Until we were laughing from the combination of red wine and protein overload.
Then, we came back to our apartment and watched One For the Money with Katherine Heigl - I love her. It wasn't the best movie, but it was romantic and more girly :) Then, we danced to good ol' Frank on the record player and called it a night. I love that we went out the night before Valentine's because it wasn't crowded at all. My sweet husband did a great job planning a fantastic date!
TONIGHT, we are doing one of my favorite things - We are taking the mattress off our bed and move it into the living room, watching more movies (we really like movies), eating snacks, and cuddling the kitties. :) I love it!!!
