blog redesign: lena of seit
Recently, I had the privilege to redesign a blog for Lena of Seit. Last summer, I had worked with Lena on coming up with a blog design for her previous blog - Musings. I was so excited with how it turned out and Lena was wonderful to work with. She is sweet, responsible, and very creative - and all of this comes through in her blog. So, when Lena came back and told me that she was changing her blog name and wanted to update her design, I was more than thrilled!
Lena's vision for her new blog was simple: she wanted her readers to be inspired and refreshed by honest words, fresh photography, and others that are a part of her creative journey. Her inspiration words included: "inspired, refreshed, relatable, fresh, natural, and simple."
Lena wanted to keep the mountain inspiration from her previous blog in her logo. So, we redesigned her logo with hand-drawn elements to match her new name. We improved it with a more sophisticated look - including a muted blue-grey theme, modern fonts, and a hint of watercolor. The colors were inspired by the misty mountain from her logo, giving it an ethereal feel. To make it complete, we added simplistic rollover effects that give it a clean finish.
