life + love: california

This past week, Savannah and I took a trip to California. And it was A-W-E-S-O-M-E. This was my first time to California. Actually, this was my first time west of the Mississippi River! So, when I stepped out of the plane, I was taken aback by how sunny it was there! I was stunned. No matter the weather, the sky is constantly a clear, bright blue. I couldn't get over it our entire trip. ALSO ... it's like the perfect combination of the beach, the desert, and the mountains. All in one. I've never been anywhere like it.

While we were there, we spent a lot of our time visiting our friend, Anica, who is going to school in Pasadena. I loved seeing her apartment and meeting all of her sweet friends. It's comforting to know that she is in a good place. We had a rental car, so after we settled in on Friday, we spent most of the day Saturday touring around Hollywood and Burbank, going on a WB Studios tour, and eating at the Elephant Bar. The WB Studios tour was my favorite on Saturday. It was so cool to see all the back lots and hear about what famous scenes had been filmed there. It was crazy how a lot of the same props and sets were used for multiple amounts of scenes.

Sunday was the best. Mostly because we went to Disneyland, but also because it reminded me of when the three of us traveled down to Florida to Disney World our senior year in college. We decided to go spontaneously and had such a blast. So, when we went to Disneyland on Sunday, it brought back so many memories. It was a great day! We saw a bunch of our favorite characters including: Peter Pan, Wendy, Mary Poppins, Cinderella, Aurora, Jasmine, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Alice in Wonderland, Tinkerbelle, and then Mickey and Minnie again in cowboy//girl costumes.

On Monday, Savannah and I attended Blogshop Video with Bri and Angela. It was the perfect ending to our trip and gave us so many great ideas on how to further Maiedae and take it to the next level. You can see the short video I produced by clicking here. I can't wait to start using video more on my blog and exploring the fun ways I can share stories with you through it!

Be sure to check out Savannah's snapshots here. I'm glad to be home and settling back into my normal routine, but I will miss you, California!
