Holiday DIY Party: Burlap Wreath DIY
I hope you are enjoying the DIY party so far! For the second part of day one of the holiday party, I'm sharing an intricate, beautiful DIY that is great to do with a friend while listening to some Ella Fitzgerald or Frank Sinatra Christmas music! -- who doesn't love some old, classic Christmas cheer? :) I absolutely love this DIY, because you can customize it and easily make it uniquely yours! I would suggest playing around with fun
colors and fabric that match the aesthetic of your home and adding on seasonal "extras" throughout the year.

BURLAP WREATH DIY
SUPPLIES NEEDED
- Wire Frame.
- Embroidery thread or regular thread.
- Lace trim.
- Two colors of burlap fabric.
- Not Pictured: Floral wire & scissors.
PREP STEPS:
- Cut strips of burlap from first color that are 5 inches wide and around 1-2 yards long.
- Set one strip aside.
- Cut a piece of lace the same length as the strip from #2.
- Cut the rest of the strips from #1 into pieces to make multiple 5 in x 10 in rectangles.
- Cut 50 pieces of floral wire, each 10 inches long.
- Cut a piece of wire that is a little longer than the circumference of your wire frame.
- Cut a strip of burlap from second color that is 10 inches wide and around 1-2 yards long.
DIY STEPS:
- Fold each rectangle you created in Prep 4 in half on the short side. Taking the open corners in both hands, scrunch together creating a half-bow. Wrap a piece of wire around to secure.
- One at a time, insert each half-bow into the middle of the frame.
- Using a piece of cut wire, secure each half-bow onto the frame by threading the wire through the burlap and wrapping around the frame multiple times. Make sure the burlap pieces are close together.
- Take the strip of burlap you left in Prep 2 and fold over on itself accordion-style.
- Using the piece of wire from Prep 5, thread the wire through the middle of the burlap. Tie the ends of wire together.
- Lay the burlap on top of your existing wreath.
- Optional: Using lace, make flowers by wrapping the lace around a finger. Secure each flower onto the wreath by threading wire through the flower and then through the wreath.
- Using the piece of lace from Prep 3, fold in between the half-bows and the accordion burlap.
- To secure it all together, take pieces of wired burlap from Step 1 and insert them onto the inner circle of the wreath. Using a piece of cut wire, thread through all three layers and onto the frame.
- Using the strip of burlap from Prep 6, fold in half on long end. Fold onto wreath and cut to desired hanging length. Putting the ends together, thread a piece of cut wire through and twist into a loop. You will use this loop to hang the wreath.
- Create a bow out of remaining burlap from second color and attach to Step 10 using cut wire.
